Xani studied architecture at the University of Prishtina but turned increasingly to art during his studies. His training in drawing and painting under Professor Hamdi Terzici inspired him to pursue a career in the visual arts.

During the Kosovo War in 1999, Xani fled to Germany and has lived in Dortmund ever since. There, he became part of the local art community and an active member of the *Kunstförderer Unna* association.

His artistic work includes both canvas painting and large-scale wall and façade designs. Xani experiments with the reduction of form, material texture, and the expressive power of color. His motifs often reflect a symbolic visual language, with the stylized human figure serving as a recurring central theme.

Painting gives him a profound sense of freedom. He often views his own works as an outside observer, recognizing how contemporary issues have unconsciously found their way into his art.
